Erizo Blue is the focal point of this kitchen remodel by Sarah Robertson of Studio Dearborn. The bright yet soothing blues pair beautifully with the crisp white of the countertops, cabinets, and chairs. The mix of circular patterns and straight lines in Erizo compliment the similar features in the rest of the room: the interplay between clean edges from the cabinets and island and rounded lines from the light fixtures are mirrored in Erizo’s design.
The captivating pattern brings images of the sun and stars to mind, all while maintaining a unique design that entertains the eye throughout the room. These encaustic cement tiles incorporate the durability of concrete while preserving the smooth colors and patterns of a Greek seashore house.

We love how this design leans into the contrast between the backsplash and countertop. The blank countertops calm and harmonize the pattern of Erizo. The equalizing designs work together to connect the entire room seamlessly. We’d be remiss not to draw attention to the splash of color from the tulips. One benefit to Erizo Blue is that it is colorful and still pairs with myriad accent colors for added dimension. The golden accents from the cabinetry and sink also help the various blues of the kitchen pop.

This kitchen feels so much like a breath of fresh sea air. It has all the clean lines of a modern escape, where people can meet to talk over a glass of wine or a home-cooked meal. The Erizo Blue wall is the focal point of the kitchen and anchors the cooking area in patterned design while allowing for openness in the rest of the room for congregation.
The layout feels almost like an old-world kitchen in its openness. The colors remind us of that vacation we’ve always wanted to take, where swimming in clear water, enjoying deep friendships, and indulging in good food are the only things on the itinerary.
