This Vintage Kitchen Has A Perfect Touch of Fall

As we square our shoulders in preparation for September’s first autumnal chill, we’re looking more and more towards designs that reflect the intimate, eclectic nature of fall. Sunny pastels make way for splashes of cinnamon and gold, dahlias bloom in spaces where peonies were before, and bright, zesty flavors relent to the warm comfort of cinnamon and clove.

Today’s customer spotlight features a space that brings the best of fall to the forefront while maintaining room for decor changes as often as the changing seasons. We’re talking about this kitchen by Kate Pearce Vintage, which uses our Circulos Black Tile on her backsplash.

This space is remarkable because it doesn’t shy away from bold design; it leans into it to create a backdrop primed for style evolutions. Where other areas might prioritize more of a blank slate to let changing style elements shine, this space keeps bold design as the focus. It plays with adornment to accentuate the strong personality already extant in the room.

As you can see, Kate Pearce is constantly changing some aspects of the space and shifting decor around, and the tile backsplash strengthens every iteration in its own right. Above, a longhorn skull sits atop the range hood, exerting a vintage Western presence over a previously Gothic space.

The above adaptation of this space keeps the stunning pumpkin velvet bar chairs and the Kazimah Carpets runner, but swaps out the island centerpiece and the range painting for pieces more befitting a vernal shift. As is plain to see, the kitchen’s character and the foundation of the vintage air that the backsplash creates are never compromised. They are rather strengthened and fascinatingly altered with each fluctuation in design.

The elements of this space that compliment the Black (and white) Circulos Tile backdrop are the white marble countertops and white cabinets below, the light wood floors, and an additional bold statement with a vintage cobalt oven. Here, Kate Pearce changes out the runner for a lighter one with soft salmon tones, proving that every detail matters and comes together perfectly in a truly inspired design.

This last close-up shot of the Circulos Tile Backsplash hones in on the beautiful detail inherent in each handmade cement tile. Our encaustic cement tiles are hand-pressed by our skilled artisans and colored by handcrafted pigment mixtures that are pressed directly into the tiles. The way artisans make them is one of the reasons our cement tile is perfect for backsplashes or high-traffic spaces. Colors pressed from pigments, unlike painted tile, do not chip and fade over time. In contrast, they only become richer and deeper as they age.

We simply love this kitchen and all of Kate Pearce’s beautiful designs and can’t wait to cozy up to more of them this fall.
