A Bathroom Reimagined by Eclectic Twist

Norwegian Rose marble tile and Snow white zellige tile are a match made in heaven. Despite originating from 2 different continents, these tiles offer a unique interplay that just can’t be beat or imitated. That’s why some people, like the talented Tina Bousu of Eclectic Twist, have been able to create such fascinating spaces as this bathroom she designed for Better Homes and Gardens’ One Room Challenge.

Eclectic Twist Bathroom 01

Seriously, what a fantastic end-product! In her blog, Tina assessed her progress on this amazing bathroom:

“This project has been the biggest DIY we have ever undertaken and after 6 months worth of design planning, organizing and finally the actual process of completing it I’m thrilled to share the final spaces with you!”

Using our Norwegian Rose marble tile in 6×12 subway, she created a lively and vibrant backsplash that’s the perfect backdrop for this magical space.

“The pulls are copper plumbing parts, I just spray painted the handle piece a pale pink to tie into the marble!”

Directly across from the vanity, you can see even more rose marble tile, this time with contrasting white zellige tile just alongside in the shower.

“Just next to the water closet is the new shower!  A walk in with floor to ceiling glass panels keep it streamlined letting the Zellige tile from Riad tile shine.  I carried it around the corner and ended with a raw brick pattern to add interest. You can really see the beauty of the handmade Zellige tile that plays so well with the copper shower pan.  It’s such a unique element that brings so much depth to the shower.”

But this bathroom has another feature that takes it to a whole new level: a fireplace! We think this corner of the bathroom is particularly spectacular because of how many amazing elements are at work.

“Next to the shower is the copper and enamel bath paired with a brass faucet both from Witt and Berg. These float next to the Zellige tiled fireplace and in front of a Norwegian Rose marble focal wall.  There’s that mac daddy Sparta fixture!”

“The Norwegian Rose marble frames the copper bath and mirrors the marble used directly opposite on the vanity wall.  Of course plants because I have to have plants.”

Without a doubt, this bathroom from Eclectic Twist showcases the power of unique tiling when combined with a keen eye for interior design. We can’t wait to see what Tina will create in the future! Be sure to visit her blog to read the full post and see even more pics!
