Norwegian Rose Keeps Making Waves

Marble tile with pink and grey is swiftly becoming the order of the day for ambitious designers across the US. This type of tile, known as Norwegian Rose, is perfect for all sorts of different homes and situations, but it is also an ideal choice for designers who want to think outside the box a bit, exploring new possibilities and combinations of decor.

Delicate Marble Tile with Pink and Grey

An exciting trend that has emerged in the world of pink marble tile is contrast alongside darker colors. Rich greens, darker gold, and even tasteful wallpaper are all proving to be an excellent match for our Norwegian Rose marble tile, leading to all manner of fascinating spaces across the stylistic spectrum. This contrast is proving to be perfect in bathrooms, kitchens, or wet bars, like this one:

Our Norwegian Rose marble tile, seen here in a classic Herringbone mosaic format, brings a new dimension to this wet bar, providing an excellent sense of contrast in the space. Wet bars are often very popular spaces for designers to experiment with different materials, textures, and colors, and this designer did just that. The Herringbone Norwegian Rose is a perfectly delicate balance against the rich, verdant green cabinets, crafting a unique color scheme that we enjoy immensely.

Moving from the wet bar, Norwegian Rose has proven to be incredibly useful for forward-thinking bathroom renos as well:

If you keep up with our blog or Insta, this tub might look a little familiar to you. Frankly, we can’t help revisiting this bathroom every once in a while, because it shows what happens when a designer is willing to take chances and experiment with different decor. This bathroom, created by our friends Eclectic Twist, is nothing if not completely unique. Blending fascinating lighting fixtures, a classic brass tub, patterned tiling on the floor, and an exuberant vanity that’s unfortunately not in this photo, (you can see it on our Insta!) Eclectic Twist lives up to their name, drawing these odds and ends together into a cohesive and endlessly interesting bathroom. Of course, since we’re here to talk about pink marble tile, let’s take a moment to focus on that and what it brings to the table in this space.

This bathroom’s bold and prominent application of Norwegian Rose marble tile, seen here in our solid 6×12 subway tile format, delivers a fascinating blend of color and texture to this bathroom, enjoying a unique place in the cornucopia of ideas present here. Serving as a sort of backsplash, the pink marble warms the space slightly, helping bring out the warmer shades of the brass while softening the white tiles to the left, right, and below it. Additionally, the natural texture of the marble is an excellent foil to the intricate tiling on the ground, providing a sense of the organic to this exciting space. This simple accent wall helps bring together the different parts of this space, while remaining a statement all on its own. Once again, we congratulate Eclectic Twist on their excellent taste and flawless execution.

We always enjoy seeing renos that utilize Norwegian Rose, as this variety of marble is still very fresh in the US. So far, the designers that have used our Norwegian Rose tile have been responsible for pioneering entirely new interior design ideas and trends, and we love seeing how different people put their unique tastes to work with this gorgeous type of tile:

Spaces like this, where the marble tile is juxtaposed with something equally as vibrant, are always super fun to see. This bathroom, pieced together by someone with a great eye for design and a clear love for texture, showcases Norwegian Rose at it’s best. Alongside this gorgeous wallpaper, rich with greenery and flowers, the delicate pinks, greys, and whites present within the Norwegian Rose tile shine brilliantly, further enhancing the rich colors of the wallpaper. The stark divide between the two serves this space well, and the strategically-selected pink sink really unites the room under the rosy shades. Spaces like this take vision, talent, and a penchant for risk-taking to execute well, and this designer revealed that they clearly have all three in spades!

As outstanding as these three uses of marble tile with pink and grey are, they aren’t the only way to use this tile. In all three of the above, Norwegian Rose is contrasted by bold design choices, either in the form of prominent contrasting colors or exciting decor, but make no mistake, Norwegian Rose is more than capable of holding its own:

In this wet bar, our Norwegian Rose marble tile in classic Pickett mosaic takes center stage, placed alongside only soft white paint and gold fixtures. This designer showcases the natural beauty of Norwegian Rose with little to distract the eye, allowing the delicate pink shade of the tiles to be the primary source of color in the space. Next to the simple white, the soft colors add only a touch of darkness while the off-white streaks present in the tile match up with the background decor.
