The Top Five Tile Trends of the Month

It’s September, and as temperatures fall along with the changing leaves, it’s time to style our interiors to reflect the autumnal outdoors. But fall style doesn’t always mean burnt orange accents and piles of gourds. Read on for our top 5 tile trends of the month, which conjure coziness and pared-back elegance simultaneously.

#1: Pair Snow Zellige with Brass Accents and Floating Shelves

Our Snow White Zellige can capture the mood of any season. Whether winter, spring, summer, or fall, this tile is sleek without ever being flat. In this look by Timeless Oak Designs, our Snow White Zellige pairs with brass drawer pulls and lighting fixtures to soften the design’s monochromatic element. The cream-colored cabinets are also coupled with light wood floating shelves, leaving a blank slate to style the rest of the space.

This soft and chic look is terrific because of its versatility. Snow White Zellige, with pared-back style elements, creates a particular tabula rasa of design, free to fill with whatever you see fit. The key is that this clean space is not boring nor dull but has enough character to stand on its own. This look is the perfect way to accomplish seasonal changes in design.

#2: Lean on Patterned Cement Tile Backsplashes for Built-In Design

The alternative to the blank slate backsplash above is pictured in this design by the Goesling Group Design Studio. Our Zanzibar Black cement tile shines in this spirited space, paired with floating shelves to maximize and highlight the striking pattern.

We love how our Zanzibar pattern lines up to keep the eye in constant motion, always looking from one thing to the next. Movement is an essential element of design; the line your eye travels in space coincides with how it makes you feel. The cross-hatching and bold lines of our Zanzibar tile evoke an area that is strong and spunky with defined character.

#3: Fishscale Marble Flooring

We firmly believe that marble tile has been having a moment, and our Fish Scale Mosaic Casablanca Carrara Marble brings a new element to a time-tested classic. The curved edges of the fish scale move with organic veins in marble to create a curated yet organic look. Pair it with a Persian rug as Farmer’s Wife Style did, and you’ll have a rustic but polished design.

#4: Herringbone Patterned Marble

We love seeing the exciting ways patterns and marble can play together. Our 1”x4” Herringbone Mosaic Casablance Carrara Marble tile in this shower by Bette Abbot Interior Design shows how marble can evoke a coziness akin to knit sweaters and plush throws. It almost seems as if the marble tile is woven together on the expanse of this shower wall, and we can’t think of a better design for fall.

#5: Striped Zellige

We’ve been exploring the versatility of Zellige lately. Specific designs have shown that multiple tones of zellige can bring playfulness to a remarkable space.

Take, for example, this Courtney Hill Utt Interiors design, which uses our 4”x4” Snow White and 4”x4” Sea Green Zellige. This space, built for the kids’ bath, exemplifies the cheerful charm that handmade Zellige brings. While all-white Zellige might feel too mature for a kids’ bath, this pattern is perfect.Which tile trend is your favorite?
