Marble Tile: A Classic Choice for Flooring

Time and time again, marble tile has proven itself to be ideal for flooring. Durable, versatile, and positively gorgeous, marble tile is the perfect way to add a dose of classic marble to your home with none of the drawbacks of using a full slab.

The Perfection of Marble Tile

When it comes to renovating your bathroom, you don’t always have to look for the hottest new trends to find design inspiration. Sometimes, a bit of classic simplicity is the name of the game, and as you can see in this bathroom, simplicity goes a long way.

This bathroom features a clean, uncomplicated color scheme that exudes as much class as it does comfort. With our marble tile, this designer revealed that simple doesn’t have to be boring.

This bathroom makes use of our signature Casablanca Carrara marble tile, seen in our ever popular 5” Hex mosaic and 3×6 Subway. The interplay between these two variations in shape lends an interesting contrast that keeps the bathroom feeling uniform without becoming too one-note.

One the opposite end of the design spectrum, we have this absolutely electrifying marble tile shower:

While the first bathroom exuded simplistic charm, this bathroom takes the opposite approach, creating a space that definitely pops. Using our exciting Norwegian Rose marble tile in Herringbone and our Black Terrazzo for the floor, this designer crafted something quite singular and distinct that we find nothing less than remarkable.

Despite its obvious beauty and surprising utility, Norwegian Rose marble is still a bit uncommon in the US, mainly because of its relatively recent arrival in this part of the world. As a daily new decor option, this tile isn’t beholden to any previous trends, allowing designers to really explore the possibilities present in this pink marble tile. We often see people using Norwegian Rose to add some delicate pinks to brightly lit rooms, but occasionally, we get the privilege of seeing applications like this one, which focus on the darker tints in the marble. Using a mixture of lighting and dark framing from the Black Terrazzo, this designer draws out the vibrant ruddy hues that run deep into this variety of marble, exposing its rich, organic color. This amazing blend of rose and pink is the perfect compliment to the dark tones of the flooring as well as the brass fixtures. The herringbone pattern augments this effect by creating a tighter sense of texture that also introduces more variance in color. All in all, this bathroom is a brilliantly executed and bold statement piece.

Though we absolutely love traditional marble subway tile, sometimes just a small shift can make a dynamic difference. Take this bathroom for example, which makes use of our 4×12 and 6×12 Casablanca Carrara marble subway tile:

Rather than simply laying the subway tile in its standard parallel orientation, this designer gave her tile application a slight tilt, creating the ever popular herringbone pattern. Though herringbone tile is often much smaller and more delicate, this application shows just how spectacular larger herringbones can look, creating a sense of movement that breaks up the continuity of the Casablanca Carrara just enough to add a dash of complexity. Though these two varieties of tile are nearly identical, with only a slight shape difference, the herringbone pattern creates a sense of textural diversity that delivers a twist on this classic tiling.

Pink Marble, Revisited

In many instances, pink marble is used in incredibly forward-thinking spaces that rely a great deal on experimentation and risk-taking. Quite often, the end result is incredibly appealing and unique, but at the same, we recognize that not everyone wants their space to be incredibly unique. Sometimes, you just want a classic space to be given new life with a bit of novel decor, and believe us when we say that Norwegian Rose marble tile is absolutely perfect for spaces like these. Take a look at this exquisite wet bar crafted by this brilliant designer:

With just a few simple elements and a brilliant application of our Norwegian Rose marble tile, seen here in Pickett Mosaic, this designer created a vibrant and lively wet bar with just a touch of pink, rose, and grey for added color. This space is the perfect example of pink marble tile being used for emphasis rather than the focal point. In fact, this wet bar doesn’t exactly have any sole focal point, instead seamlessly blending together several astounding bits of decor into a quite unified space. With its pink marble backsplash, brass art light, pink stone hardware, and bright marble countertops, this wet bar uses delicate colors to create a soft light that is every bit as elegant as it is welcoming.
